SOARING HIGH IN THE AVIATION INDUSTRY
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As the festive season approaches, airports around the world will experience an influx in traffic as passengers travel to see family, friends or to vacation destinations. With this increase in activity, all areas of the airport will have to be maintained and updated to keep up with the crowds, especially the airport lobbies and washroom areas. Surveys show for customer satisfaction, clean and a pleasant environment are the number one criterion for air travel passengers. A well-maintained airport atmosphere that operates smoothly is a reflection that an airport is running efficiently and prioritizes its passengers’ comfort.
Our Key Products For the Airport Sector:
Currently, Gibca is working on a project with Bahrain International Airport that’s going through an extensive expansion to accommodate an increase in passenger traffic. The team is installing washroom cubicles, urinal panels, the openable units under vanity and wall cladding in all the washroom/restroom areas.
We have the pleasure of working with ADP Ingénierie (ADPI) Designing & Planning Consultantst and TAV Construction along with its joint venture partner Arabtec Construction LLC on this exciting project. More than 300 high compact laminate cubicles have been quoted and majority of them have already been successfully installed at different locations at the airport.
For our staffs’ exemplary service and work commitment, we received an award for outstanding performance of having zero defect for the month of June,July and October.
Another significant project which we have completed was the Hamad International Airport. This was a land reclamation project to create the airport site and it was also the largest environmental clean-up in Qatar’s history. The appearance was based on the concept of creating an oasis where many of the buildings had a water motif, with wave-styled roofs and desert plants growing in recycled water. The Steering Committee awarded the contract for development of the airport to Bechtel.
Gibca worked with Sky Oryx JV on this project by providing internal wall cladding solutions to the high traffic and heavily populated areas of the airport.
Over 40,000 sq. m of wall cladding was constructed for the entire public airport area. It was the ideal choice for the project as it combined practical functionality with architectural design requirements. Gibca’s in-house technical design and site support team provided technical suggestions and continuous support to the installation teams to overcome the challenges on site. These wall cladding system were the perfect solutions having resistant to stain by over 40 different substances, resulting in aesthetically appealing functional surface with fast and easy installation process.
