CHALLENGE

The Children’s Mall in Katara Plaza has become a popular destination for families in the state of Qatar with its unique gift-shaped design. This shopping centre was made specifically with the children in mind to cater to their needs for clothes, education, and entertainment.

It was important to the client that the mall has a dedicated party room where events could be held, and Gibca was tasked with providing a solution. Working alongside consultants KEO, Erga, and Bluu Qatar as the contractor, Gibca installed one of its world-class operable partitions in the party room located on the third floor of the mall.

SOLUTION

The operable partition installed by Gibca had an opening height of 2500mm and an opening width of 7273mm made in high-pressure laminate on MDF in white finish. With the use of operable walls, it makes it possible to divide or enlarge the room quickly and easily.

Another key benefit of the operable partition is its acoustic properties. Achieving a rating of 53 STC, the partition effectively blocks sound from other events in the mall, allowing for multiple events to be held simultaneously without any noise interference. This is particularly important in a busy shopping center like the Children’s Mall, where there may be several events happening at the same time.

In addition to its acoustic properties, the operable partition is paired panels. This means it can be stacked neatly and stored at pocket doors without obstructing the floor. This makes it easy to move and adjust the partition as needed. Quietly and effortlessly.
